American Idol Elton John Week Recap

So last week I bypassed watching American Idol due to illness. Thankfully I am on the mend so my singing voice will be in tip top shape for the play (and karaoke on Friday night). Side note: 15 (almost 14) days til Music Man opening night! Last week the judge's save was used on Casey and they made a good choice by saving him. The other people who were in the bottom 3 were Thia and Stefano. Tomorrow night I will miss the results show because of rehearsal. Since it is double elimination this week I will predict two people to go home one boy and one girl. This week the contestants took on the song book of Sir Elton John and I do believe a majority of the songs done tonight were done great justice. Elton John is one of my favorite singers. I did not become familiar with him until the 90s when he did the music for the Lion King and have been a fan of his music since that point. Thus some of the songs tonight were not that familiar to me. Top Tier Performances
Rated either 9 or 10 *Haylee's performance is on the cusp between 8.5 and 9 Casey Song: Your Song Rating 9 Comments: A total 180 degree turn from a so-so performance last week. Definitley showed his softer side *Haylee Song: Bennie and The Jets See notation above for rating Comments: This was one of my favorite performances of the night. She totally commanded the stage and her rendition of the song was phenonminal Jacob Song: Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word Rating 10 Comments: Four words sum up his performance. Flawless. Emotional. Powerful. Riveting. That is all I really need to say. James Song: Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting Rating 9 Comments: Perfect song choice for him. It brought out his rocker attitude and he had good connection with the audience. America is totally farsighted if they don't vote him through to the next round. Lauren Song: Candle In The Wind Rating 9 Comments: By far one of her best performances. She showed amazing artistry with this piece. I was really impressed with how welll she did. Pia and Scotty both got 10s... as for the most part they have been consistantly getting since the beginning of the season. I missed the title of song that Pia chose but as always her performance was flawless. Scotty sang Country Comfort.. one of the songs I am not familiar with. It really fit his country style well and I enjoyed his peformance.
Middle Tier Peformances
Rated between 7 and 8 * Stefano is on the cusp between 6.5 and 7.

Naimia

Song: I'm Still Standing

Rating 8

Comments: Not too familiar with this song. Thought her reggee twist on it was very creative. I feel this song is very appropriate given all that is going on in the world right now between the war in Afghanistan, the civil unrest in Libya and the rest of the Middle East and what is going on in Japan with the people there recovering from the earthquake and Tsuanami

Stefano

See above notation for rating

Song: Tiny Dancer

Comments: Not sure if cared too much for this song choice. A more upbeat song would have been a better chouce for him.. perhaps Crocodile Rock. There were a few notes that were off key but otherwise it was a good rendition.

Thia Song Daniel Rating 8 Comments: Thought she did better then she did with Colors of The Wind. Very powerful and moving. I almost cried.

Bottom Tier

Rated Between 4 and 6

Paul

Song: Rocket Man

Rating 5.5

Comments: I was very underwhelmed by this performances. Performances in previous weeks have been better. He could be in dager of going home.

Who I voted for: Haylee and Scotty

Results

Bottom 3: Naima Paul Thia

Who went home Thia and Naima

My thoughts: It should have been Paul because his performance was really weak in my opinion,

My Sister's Keeper is on the cusp of 2010-2011 since I watched it on New Year's Eve

~*My Sister's Keeper B-

**True Grit A

**The Dillemma B-/C

*Enchanted B- I don't really know what took me so long to see this. I thought it was cute, funny and a great parody of all the Disney movies.

**The King's Speech A+ Highly Reccommended. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Extremly powerful and emtionally riveting.

*Stand By Me B-/C

*~Bride Wars D- This movie still remains unfunny and boring to me.

~Napoleoon Dynamite C I went through a stage where I was really addicted to watching this movie. The other night I watched for the first time in 5 years and I wonder at some points why I found it so funny to begin with. It still had its brief moments of hilarity.

**Who Framed Roger Rabbit B I have not seen this movie since I was8 or 9. It was a great trip down memory lane for me. Best quote" : I'm not bad.. just drawn that way." Jessica Rabbit

**Saturday Night Live The Best of Will Ferrell B

~**Burlusque B+

** Mildred Pierce B
** La Vie En Rose C For the first foriegn film I've seen I give it a pretty modest rating. I liked it overall but found certain parts to be rather confusing.

Goal Update

New Goal for the new year.

I have been inspired by the events that have been happening in the country around the issue of bullying... most espeically the incident that happened in the fall at Rutgers University when Tyler Climente a freshmen student who was gay jumped off of the George Washington Bridge because his roommate caught him in a sexual tryst with another boy and broadcast it on the internet to write a play about bullying. I was bullied in high school but I didn't let it define me so that's why I decided I wanted to write a play about bullying. On the subject of gay bullying I am somewhat inspired by Kurt's chracter on Glee because being gay doesn't exactly come easy to him and he ulitmatey ended transferring out of McKinley High because of it. If I wanted to focuss my play on gay bullying part of my research would have to involve finding out from my friends who are gay the level of difficulty it was for them to come out. Might serve for some back ground. I suppose it's just a matter of asking the right questions.

I have no idea when I'm going to start writing this play. I have had the idea for writing it for quite awhile but haven't buckled down to writing it yet. I think I may just start with brainstorming for now but won't start to write anything concrete until I complete working on Princess K.I.M and the Lie That Grew because that takes top priority right now.

Happy St Patrick's Day all!

American Idol/Glee Weekly Update

This week on Glee they did original songs. A welcome difference from them doing covers all the time. It was definitley the best episode of the season by far. My other favorites episodes were the premeire,Rocky Horror Glee Show and Never Been Kissed. I hated how mean Quinn was to Rachel about Finn but I actually think her point is valid. While I was hopeful for awhile that Finn and Rachel would get back together that is looking doubtful now. Rachel needs someone who will treat her with respect. Lots of good muaicla numbers too. and Yay.... Blaine and Kurt are finally a couple. I am so excited! They are so cute!

How did I miss the memo?

So a few weeks ago Anthony Rapp from RENT was at UNH in Durham. How did I miss that memo? I would have loved to meet him so he could have signed my copy of his memoir. Hopefully I didn't miss the only opportunity to meet him. If that's the case I will be incredibly bummed out. I wonder what kind of connections the UNH campus activities board has to get Anthony Rapp to speak. It would have been cool if NEC had gotten him to come speak when I was there.

Just sayin......

Ensemble Roles

So at this point I do not have much of an acting resume but I am hoping to build on it the next few years. Including the show I am currently in I have only been in five shows (including a show I directed when I worked as a camp counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Milford in Summer 2006....before the Barn Playhouse) mostly in ensemble roles or small walk on roles..some had lines and some were non speaking. One of my main goals is to eventually get a part in a show that has lines.. perhaps not a lead role but the next below that.. always something to work toward. Although when it comes to musicals the obstacles I would see standing in my way are singing and dancing.
As a bit of performance history the first role I ever had was my senior year in high school when I was in my school's fall show A Fatal Combination. This show was really fun to be in. I was a waitress who got to be really snippy with another waiter who was played by Matt Cahill. This show was an a la carte murder mystery which was fun to me in because there was a lot of audience interaction. The show I directed when I was the Camp Couselor was also fun because I got to play a pirate. I don't remember what the play was called though. At the Barn Playhouse I was in two shows Barefoot in The Park and Annie Get Your Gun. In Barefoot I was in the moving company and was only on stage for 10 minutes to set up the apartment scene. In Annie Get Your Gun I was in the ensemble and in most of the crowd scenes. That was a really fun show to be in. The fun thing about ensemble roles is that you get to be create your own character and see how your character interacts with the other characters that are in the scene. I also liked to make up different scenerios for the different main characters in my head which would later become inspiration for some fan fiction that I wrote. Page back in the archives for entries about fan fics related to Annie Get Your Gun. That show gave me a lot of new found confidence that I never had before that helped me to do better in auditons I would have for future shows..including the show I am currently in. This confidence also helps me to do well in my performace because whenever I go back and watch the dvd of Annie Get Your Gun I observe myself in the opening musical number Colonel Buffalo Bill and while I may have looked calm on the outside I was really nervous on the inside because it was my first time performing on stage. Naturally the show went fantastic but judging from the video I can judge that I was insanely nervous. I also didn't feel my character was developed enough for some reason... even though it was an ensemble character that didn't have a speaking role. I don't know why I was so nervous about the interacting part in the crowd scenes. The reason why I am even thinking about this now is because I am comparing that performance to Music Man. With Music Man I feel somewhat less intimidated to interact with peope during the crowd scenes. It helps me to develop my character a little bit better and for some reason ( that is really undefined) during Annie Get Your Gun I felt I couldn't do that quite as well. I don't know if that was my fault or not but I suppose you live and learn. This lesson is helping me to improve with my development of my character for this show.

And now.... more about Music Man....
I haven't written a lot about Music Man in this blog yet. I did talk about the audition process in a past entry but that was only in brief. I actually did a video blog updating with my progress on the show on Superbowl Sunday but I had issues with posting it to the blog. This is my first PTA Play and I am having so much fun being in it. I am in the ensemble as a townsperson and it has been fun working with my other cast members.. most who I have seen throughout the years in other PTA Plays and some high school kids who I have worked with on Riverbend Youth Company shows. Learning the dance numbers was a bit challenging in the beginning but I am catching on quickly. I think my favorite dance is Marian The Libarian. It is fun to see how Ashley and Stuart who play Marian Paroo and Harold Hill interact in that scene. Last week at rehearsal we broke in family units for the townspeople scene which means tha t each adult now has a child or children. My family unit consists of me,Bob Pitrowski, Mrs. Swanson, Mrs. Zall, Mrs. Scagnelli and two middle school girls Madison and Hannah and another girl named Kria who is 5.. It''s fun the group scenes to see how the various family units interact with each other.
Side Note: Ashley and I went to high school together and were both involved in theatre. We never got the opportunity to work together in high school so I am so lucky to get the opportunity to finally work with her. :)
Side Note 2: I dedicate my performances in Music Man to my friends from my NLBP intern company. Wherever their paths away from the Barn have led them they continue to inspire me with whatever they are doing in their professional careers. <3
March will be a busy month as the show grows closer and closer (Apr 13-17 for those who want to come) I am excited to see how everything we have been learning so far will come together and how the scenes will connect together with the scenes that we have not rehearsed yet

And who know what kind of new fan fictions ideas I will get from Music Man..I'm sure there will be a few a ha moments to get my creative juices flowing!

Glee is going down and American Idol WAY UP!

Glee has gone way down in terms of subject matter this year. I used to get really excited about watching it but now I am reaching a point where I don't care that I skip watching it. I am beginning to lose a lot of respect for the show because what ever story lines they do have seem to focus all around sex. I purposely missed last week's episode because Sex and drinking were way overglorified and it was disgusting. The preview I saw on Entertainment Tonight really turned me off toward wanting to watch it.

Last night's episode was not much better in my honest opinon. I feel that the theme of sex is over riding the whole point of the show which is about the Glee club and how they do amazing things. There have been very few memorable musical numbers this season and mixed with lack luster plots or very little plot what soever I am just starting to lose hope in a show I really used to love.

The dynamic of couples seems to be really off this season too. Let's compare
Emma ~>Will vs Emma~>Carl I love me some John Stamos but I think Will and Emma are a much better match. With Emma admitting she still has feelings for Will in this episode I see a glitter of hope that they will get back together.
Rachel ~> Finn Rachel ~>Puck Rachel ~>Jesse St James. Obviously Rachel has been all over the place with who she has dated over the past season and a half. Jesse St James was a short lived character and I hated how he used Rachel to get tips for Vocal Adrenaline to do better in the compettion. At the end of last season he went off to UCLA so I doubt he'll be coming back to the show anytime soon but who knows.. he may at one point or another. I hope so because Jonathan Groff and Lea Michelle have great chemistry ( Maybe the fact they were in Spring Awakening together helps that out... really wish I had the opportunity to see that show when it was in NY) I was never really crazy about Puck and Rachel as couple.. something just didn't work well together. Finn and Rachel were my favorite couple and I was so bummed when they broke up at the end of the Christmas episode. I don't know if it's too unrealistic to hope they'll get back together. I think that if Rachel doesn't get back together with Finn then she will have more opportunities to meet more guys and hopefully a new love interest will blossom.
Finn ~> Quinn HATE the fact they are back together. I honestly think Quinn is just using him to make Rachel jealous
Artie ~> Tina Artie~>Brittany. I feel Artie and Tina weren't really given enough of a chance as a couple they could of really worked well together. I think Artie and Brittany are a somewhat good match but Brittany's character annoys me.. way too ditzy. That character needs a little time to mature. I mean honestly... what high school kid would think that babies come from storks? Very unrealisitic.
Brittany ~> Santana. I have nothing against gays and lesbians whatsoever don't get me wrong but I don't like Brittany and Santana as a couple. Santana is a total bitch and Britanny though a bit naive is really sweet.. not a good pairing. Interested to see where that relationship will go.
Puck ~> Lauren This is a new couple this season. I am actually really liking thier chemistry a lot. We'll see where their story line will go.
Kurt ~> Blaine LOVE THEM!! They need more scenes. Chris Colfer and Darren Criss are awesome scene partners.

Decent musical numbers have been really lacking all season long.. and that's mainly what this show is supposed to be about... the music and the friendships the Glee kids form. Not sex and overglorfication of drinking and drugs. Step it up Glee writers!

Let's move on to American Idol... that's a happier topic.. Glee just disgusts and depresses me.

Top 13 Break Down
Top Performances Rated between 9 and 10
Casey 9 Song: A Little Help From My Friends Artist: Joe Corcorn. He did a wonderful rendition of the theme song from The Wonder Years. Really liked how he made the song his own
Haylee 9 Song: Blue Artist Leann Rimes Apparently this was a song that Patsy Cline never recorded and I had never heard of this song before seeing it performed tonight. She did amazing with it. Definitley something worth the download
James 9 Song Maybe I'm Amazed Artist Paul McCartney Totally did Paul McCartney justice. He did amazing and showed his softer side.
Karen 9 Artist Selena (missed the song title) Not familiar with Selena's music at all but I thought she did fantastic.
Scotty 10 Song The River Artist Garth Brooks He is amazing and definitley my top favorite guy this year. I'm rooting for him to make it into the top 5.
Middle of The Road Performances Rated between 7 and 8
Jacob 8 I Believe I Can Fly R Kelly. Overall the performance was good. Could've been better without the back up singers
Pia Song: All By Myself Artist Celine Dion Rating 7.5 She did this song moderate justice but could have done slightly better.
Lauren Song Any Man Of Mine Shania Twain Rating 7 Didn't butcher it but didn't do 100% perfect and had a few pitch problems. She has a lot of potential. No idea if she'll make it all the way to the end.
Paul Ryan Adams (missed the song title) Not familiar with this song at all. He did really good but not as great as some of the other guys.
Naimia Song Umbrella Artist Rhianna Rating 7,5 She did a creative rendition of this song. Not a big fan of the song in general though... not one of my fave Rhianna songs.
Thia Song Smile Artist Michael Jackson hanging in the balance between 8.5 and 9 Captivating and beautifully mastered. She is talented beyond her 15 years.
Bottom Performances
Stefano and Ashton's performances did not appeal to me at all. Trust me I love me some Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder but I think they missed the boat with their performances. They both rated 5.

Young Love 1st of many Music Man Fanfics

Young Love
A Music Man Fan Fiction
Takes place before Marian The Librarian is sung.

Disclaimer: I do not own any Music Man characters. Meredith Wilson owns them. I also do not own the lyrics to Side By Side. Kay Star does. That song isn't even relevant to the time period of the musical but I feel it's a good representation of Tommy and Zaneeta's relationship.

Author's Note: This is my first Music Man fan fiction. I am currently in this show as a member of the ensemble and I've been throwing around different ideas in my head for various plot lines. This is one of them. I hope there will be more soon. Enjoy and please review!

16 year old Zaneeta Shinn HATED living in River City, Iowa. Mostly because she was surrounded by gossip 24/7.
In school it was the typical teenage stuff. She wasn't well liked simply because she was Mayor Shinn's daughter. She had very few friends and couldn't wait to go to college in a year and a half. She hoped to go to Boston to study to become an English teacher. Outside of school most of the gossip was focused around her relationship with Tommy Diljas. She hated that too. She was misunderstood in so many ways and thus felt so alone. She felt Tommy was the only person who truly understood her. She appreciated him for looking past the stereotype her schoolmates saw most of the time. Her father and her were constantly at odds about her relationship with Tommy. She couldn't stand that either.
"Why are you in a relationship with that whippersnapper Tommy Diljas?" her father always instigated the conversation.
Zaneeta rolled her eyes "Nobody from this side of town understands me. Tommy does. Ye Gods!"
"What do you mean no one understands ya? "
"They think I'm stuck up. Tommy sees past that stereotype."
"I still don't like the fact you're dating him."
"Well, get over it!"
Zaneeta stormed out of the house before he could say anything more, She went to the Candy Kitchen to go meet Tommy.
Tommy was waiting for her all smiles.
"Hey pretty girl. What's gotten you all huffy?"
"Oh, my dad and I just got into another fight again that's all."
"Well just forget about all that now you're with me."
Zaneeta smiled. 'I plan to.' She thought to herself
They ordered their ice cream and grabbed a booth over by the juke box. Their waitress was quick with the delivery and soon they were digging in to their sundae.
Zaneeta let out a frustrated sigh.
Tommy looked at his girlfriend. "What's on your mind?""
"I just don't understand WHY people have to be so judgmental of us?"
"Cuz they know I'm the rebellious type but I can prove them wrong."
"How?"
"Maybe dating you will help me to settle down a bit."
Was he using their relationship as a ploy?
Zaneeta was quiet.
"I mean that in a good way of course. " He was quick to clarify and the reached under the table to comfortingly squeeze Zaneeta's hand.
"Let people talk. I don't care what they say or what your dad says. I love you and that's all that matters.
She noticed ice cream was dripping down his chin. She grabbed a napkin and caught it before it reached his shirt.
"I love you too cutie."
They finished their sundae left a tip on the table for the waitress and left the Candy Kitchen to go the library. Zaneeta needed to go get some books out for a school research project.
Tommy felt Zaneeta's hand slip in to his. He smiled. He looked around and noticed people were whispering. He didn't care what they were saying. Why should he? As he had just told Zaneeta, he loved her and that's all that mattered.
Through all kinds of weather
what if the sky should fall
just as long as we're together
it doesn't really matter at all
Well they've all had our quarrells and parted
we'll be the same as we started
just travelin along
singin' our song
side by side

Rejuventaed!

Just when I think me writing fan fiction based on Little Shop of Horrors is over.. it starts again, I am collaborating with another person on my fan fiction website. This is an experimental piece with my collaborator's original character Claudia Krelborn, Seymour's 12 year old cousin who he adopts. Added note: In the musical the age of Seymour Audrey, Crystal Chiffon and Ronette is somewhere between 16 and 21. That is open to speculation and people's opinion. What do peple think? Feedback on this fic appreciated.

Claudia

Author's Note: This one shot is inspired by Dusty the innocent's original character. I am experimenting with writing about her since Dusty the innocent and I will be collaborating together on a fic. Seymour's age is never really defined in the musical so I am assuming he's either 16 or 17,

Claudia Krelborne was abandoned at age two. Her parents died in a drunk driving car wreck. Her mother and father were not really very mindful of their child and did not know how to take care of it. Her family lived in upstate New York but since there were no other living relatives on Long Island Health and Human Service put her in an orphanage on Skid Row where she lived from that point forward.
Little did she know that she had an older cousin who grew up in an orphanage just down the street… the Skid Row Home for Boys. His name was Seymour.
Claudia developed a passion for drawing at age five she always had a sketch book with her and drew what ever she could whenever she could. She went to the local elementary school down the street from the orphanage. For a resident of Skid Row she was pretty smart. She would go to school during the day and lay awake at night wondering if she'd ever get adopted.
One spring morning just after her 12th birthday her best friend Alyssa shook her awake.
"Claud wake up. Mrs. Richards wants to see you."
Claudia groaned. What could the headmistress possibly want with her? She had done all her chores the previous day… had she done something wrong?
She rolled out of bed and dragged herself down the hall to Mrs. Richard's office. She was surprised to see two complete strangers standing next to her desk. One gentleman looked like he was about forty.. and quite portly. The second looked about 4 or 5 years older than her.. was about 5'6 and had wiry glasses.
Mrs. Richards was all smiles. "Claudia I have great news. After a long search to find living members of your family we finally found someone."
Claudia was shocked.
"Which one of you is my cousin?" she asked
The boy with the wiry glasses stepped forward.
"Claudia, I'm your cousin Seymour. Your mom and my mom were sisters. I've been wondering all these years if you were alive and now here you are."
"And who's he?" she pointed toward the portly gentleman.
"This is Mr. Mushnik. He's my boss at the flower shop."
"Claudia, pack your things up." Seymour is adopting you." Mrs. Richards instructed.
Claudia glanced up at Seymour "You are?" She asked
"Sure am. Paperwork's all signed. Go get your suitcase." Seymour said grinning from ear to ear.
Claudia skipped down the hall back into her bedroom. Alyssa looked at her with interest.
"What's going on?" she asked
"I just met my older cousin Seymour for the first time. He's adopting me."
"So you're getting out of here?"
"Yes, finally!"
Alyssa looked sad. "I'll miss you."
Claudia hugged her friend. They had been through so much together in the past seven years."I'll miss you too. Hopefully you'll get adopted soon too. You can always come visit me at the flower shop."
"You workin there?"
"I don't know yet. I'm sure I will be. Seymour works there."
Claudia packed her things up and took one last look around the bed room at the orphanage she had lived in for 10 years. She was finally leaving it behind. Starting fresh.
She hugged Alyssa again and left the room heading back down the hall. Back to Seymour.

American Idol Week 3 Top 12 Boys/Girls

Total plus that you can now vote online. Hate my computer for not downloading the website properly... should've voted by the phone. I suppose it would have been wise to vote by phone tonight since I was having so much trouble with the interent

This week we begin the top 24 performances. Tonight the guys performed and tomorrow the girls perform. To save time I will combine my commentary for both performance shows in one entry and will continue to do such for the remainder of the season, Boys will be in orange Girls will be in green

Boys

This year the talent pool for boys on American Idol is far stronger than last year because of this there could easily be a lot of early contenders to be in the top 5. I arrived home late from visting with family in Massachuetts so I missed the first performance .. which was done by Clint. I am not a big fan of his and by the snipit I saw when they showed the phone #s at the end of the show I wasn't too impressed.

Scale of 1-10 1- Horrible and hurts my ears 10 Amazing

Top Tier Rated between 9 and 10

Scotty 10 He is my top favorite guy. If I could pick early favorites to win it would be between him and James.

Stefano 10 He sang a wonderful rendition of Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. He really has good vocals and his artistry matches that of Mars.

Jacob 9 His performance was captivating and amazing. I agree with the judges that he did Luther Vandross proud. (Side note: How was I unaware that Luther passed away?)

Robbie 9 The youngest of the boys I think he will be the dark horse of the compettion,,, much like Allison Ireheta was two years ago. He will have a lot to prove against the other contestants who are older but I think he can live up to the hype of the compettion. Will he win? I'm not totally sure yet.

Middle Tier Between 7 and 8

Casey and James are the only contestants that are in this tier both ranking in at 8. James is definitley very talented and he will go very far this season.. however I hope he doesn't imitate Adam Lambert too much with the screaming because that will start to irritate me after awhile. His performance was very high energy and I very much enjoyed it. Casey gave a very sultry performance of I Put A Spell on You and it was certaintly attention getting. As Jennifer Lopez said he is very sexy

Bottom Tier Lower Than 4- 6 Nobody rates Lower than a five

Paul 5.5 Don't exactly know what I didn't like about this performance... guess the song just wasn't appealing to me no matter how good his excecution was of it.

Jovanni 6 Too karaoke. A lot of his previous performances were a lot better than this one.

Jordan 5.5-6 I don't care for him much to begin with. He tried to incorporate movement too much into his performance which weakend the quality of the performance overall. The vocals were all over the place.

Brett 6.5 He's definitley unique. Didn't quite care for his song choice

Top: Casey Jacob James Scotty

Middle (Potential Wild Cards) Brett Paul Robbie Stefano

Bottom (Mosty likely will be sent packing) Clint Jordan Jovanni

Girls

Like the boys the talent pool of girls is very strong this year. It should be an interesing fight to the finish.

Top Tier Between 9 and 10

Pia Haylee Naima and Karen are all easily in this tier. All of their performances were breathtaking and amazing in their own way. I loved Naimia's unique spin on Summertime from Porgy and Bess she truly made the song her own. All of these performances rated a 9.

Middle Tier Between 7 and 8

Julie 7 I thought her performance of Kelly Clarkson's Breakway was mediocre at best. Not too karaoke but didn't meet the standards of Kelly's original performance.

Lauren T. 8 Very catchy. I wanted to get up and dance. She gave a very energetic performance

Kendra 8 Poweful and emotional. Beautiful Vocals

Thia 7 She is pretty amazing for 15 years old. Her voice is far more mature than the age she is.

Lauren A. 7 Like Thia she is amazing for her age. I really enjoyed her performance. Her and Thia could easily be contenders for the top spot in the contest.

Ashton 8 Really liked this song a lot too.

Bottom Tier Between 4 and 6 No one rated a 4

Rachel 5 Didn't care for her song choice or her performance whatsoever. Hopefully this isn't the end for her. If she stays I hope she will do better next week.

Ta-Taynisa 5 Refer to Rachel's comments only take out the part that starts with if she stays. She will probably end up going home.

Top: Haylee Karen Lauren T Naima Pia

Middle Ground (Potential Wild Cards) Ashton Kendra Lauren A Thia

Bottom (will most likely be sent packing) Julie^ Rachel Ta-Taynisa

^I don't want Julie to be sent home. We'll have to see how America will vote . IF she stays next week I hope she picks a song that she can be a lot more creative with and make more her own. She has a lot of potential to make it all the way to the end.

Blog makeover

Decided this blog and my Life As We Know It Blog need a new look for 2011. I am fooling around with template designs at the moment determining which one I like best. Anna (Aria of An Amateur) recently redesigned her blog and I really like her new look and I want to do a similar thing for this blog. For right now I will fool around with various templates to see which one I like best. As far as background pictures go I'm not sure how to best go about doing that but I think a picture of the NYC skyline I have would be a perfect background picture from this blog. I am not sure if there is a special thing you have to install on your blog in order to to install a picture. Anna also has her sidebar seperated into different sections with links that lead you to different subpages of the blog and I want to do figure out how to do that too because right now my blog has way too much stuff in the sidebar that clutters it up. As far a blog names are concerned I think I may keep Theatre Is My Life the same for right now because it suits the blog perfectly fine. I am tiresome of Life As We Know It for a title for my personal blog though. Suggestions would be appreciated.
